Don’t miss the NCAA Men’s Golf Regional Championship taking place May 19-21 in Erie, Colorado, at Colorado National Golf Club! The Regional Championship is hosted by the University of Colorado and will be the first time that NCAA postseason play will be held in the state of Colorado. The competition will be fierce and you are sure to see low scores and pressure-packed moments. Past NCAA Regional participants include golfers such as Rickie Fowler, Anthony Kim, Gary Woodland and many other collegians who went on to successful PGA Tour careers.

The field for the regional will feature 13 teams and include both the top ranked team and player in the country. The 13-team field, in seeded order, with Golfweek and Golf Stat rankings in parenthesis:
1. Oklahoma State (#1/#1); 2. Georgia (#12/#12); 3. Auburn (#9/#13); 4. Arizona State (#31/#24); 5. Clemson (#25/#25); 6. Chattanooga (#39/#35); 7. TCU (#40/#40); 8. North Florida (#45/#48); 9. New Mexico State (#52/#53); 10. Northwestern (#56/#57); 11. Colorado State (#65/#63); 12. San Jose State (#70/#70); 13. Denver (#129/#118).
The tournament is free and open to the general public. Teams will tee off at 8 a.m. on both Thursday and Friday and at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday.

Washaun Ealey No Longer A Bulldog..Time For A Change!

ATHENS - University of Georgia tailback Washaun Ealey has been granted an unconditional release to transfer to another institution for the 2011 academic year according to UGA head coach Mark Richt.
"Washaun and I have had several conversations in recent weeks," Richt said. "We both have come to the conclusion that a transfer to another institution would be in his best interest."
A rising junior from Stillmore, Ga., Ealey has played in 21 games including nine starts during his two-year career at UGA and rushed for 1,528 yards (717 in 2009 and 811 in 2010).

Boise State imposes penalties on athletics
NCAA violations mean the football program will have fewer scholarships and practices, and four other sports also face sanctions.

The Boise State University football team will have at least three fewer preseason practices as it prepares for this year’s season opener against Georgia in Atlanta.
The Broncos also will award three fewer scholarships over the course of the next two seasons and be allowed three fewer preseason practices before next year’s opener at Michigan State.
